Alle ønsker seg levende byer og steder med kunst og kultur. På denne konferansen vil vi snakke om hvordan kunstnere, eiendomsutviklere og kommunene sammen kan skape steder der folk opplever tilknytning og fellesskap.
Kunstnere kan bidra med nye perspektiver i planleggingsprosesser og skape kunst som kan oppleves av publikum. For kunstnere kan byrom og steder i transformasjon by på interessante muligheter, men det forutsetter at de får gode rammer å arbeide innenfor. Hvordan sikrer vi det?
Kommunene ønsker i stor grad å legge til rette for kunstneriske prosjekter i by- og stedsutvikling. Slike prosesser kan erfaringsmessig styrke sosial bærekraft ved økt deltakelse, større mangfold og bedre folkehelse.
Eiendomsutviklerne har på sin side fått øynene opp for at kunst og kultur bidrar til å gjøre prosjektene de skaper mer attraktive og dermed også konkurransedyktige. Ved å dele kunnskap og erfaringer og løfte fram de gode eksemplene, vil vi åpne for en samtale på tvers av "siloene".
Målet er også at konferansen kan bidra til at kunst og kultur blir viktig i en levende ny bydel på Dokken i Bergen når den utvikles fra havn til byområde i perioden fram mot 2050.
Konferansen er et samarbeid mellom KORO og Bergen kommune v/ Utviklingsprogram for Dokken og Seksjon for kunst- og kulturutvikling.

THE LIVING CITY!
Can we get more out of a closer collaboration between property developers, municipalities and art and cultural actors?
Everyone wants vibrant cities and places with art and culture. At this conference, we will talk about how artists, property developers and the municipalities together can create places where people experience connection and community.
Artists can contribute with new perspectives in planning processes and create art that can be experienced by the public. For artists, urban spaces and places in transformation can offer interesting opportunities, but this requires that they get a good framework within which to work. How do we ensure that?
The municipalities largely want to facilitate artistic projects in urban and regional development. Experience shows that such processes can strengthen social sustainability through increased participation, greater diversity and better public health.
Property developers and the real estate sector see oportunity in how art and culture contribute to making the projects they create more attractive and competitive in the property market.
By sharing knowledge and experiences and highlighting the good examples, we will open up a conversation across the "silos". The aim is also that the conference can contribute to art and culture becoming important in a vibrant new district at Dokken in Bergen when it is developed from a port to an urban area in the period up to 2050.
The conference is a collaboration between KORO and the City of Bergen represented by Development program for Dokken and Section for art and culture development.
