The City Government has decided to submit a proposal for the new municipal plan's community section for consultation and public review.
This plan is the highest governance document in Bergen Municipality. The purpose is to set out a direction that provides long-term planning and predictability in social development.
Main objectives
The plan proposal outlines several key objectives. These are that Bergen should be a city for everyone - warm inclusive and welcoming. It highlights the importance of preserving Bergen's unique soul, identity, and traditions, while also being a driving force in creating opportunities for the future. The plan also emphasizes the importance of vibrant districts and neighbourhoods, planning for future generations, and preparing our city for climate change and other threats to societal security.

How to participate
To achieve these goals, the municipality and the entire Bergen community must work together. Everyone is now invited to share their opinions on the future of Bergen.
During March there will be a series of town hall meetings in libraries across the city.
Please find the schedule for the meetings here.
You can also submit your ideas and proposals by posting them in letter boxes placed at the libraries and at Innbyggerservice in Kaigaten 4.
Additionally, you can respond digitally using this form.
Please note that the form and the web pages are in Norwegian. We recommend using Google translate for automatic translation to different languages. Be aware that automatic translations can be inaccurate.
Going forward
The deadline for submitting proposals is March 30th. All ideas and opinions received, will be read, and taken into consideration in the process of finalizing the plan. In June, the Bergen City Council will approve the final long-term plan for Bergen.
